Miami Advice

Went to see this flick in the theater to beat the heat.

We need a new kind of film rating system. What kind of industry is it that allows a movie into the theater when the dialog can not be understood by the audience? For the first half hour of Miami Vice the lead characters mumble so badly that you literally don't know whats going on. It's good that there are many action scenes, but that is no excuse.

It is inconceivable that those responsible for this film had such little regard for the audience that they didn't make the necessary improvements before release. They should be ashamed.

Maybe they aren't any good at making movies, but they surely know when to release them. I'll bet nobody left the air-conditioned comfort. Right?[WINK]

You know it. Physically they remained in place, but my wife dropped off and there were a couple
of deafening snorers in the back rows. The mumbles blended effortlessly with the snorting snorers.

I have a big problem understanding people in movies--key scenes are so low in volume. I thought it was my age but it's not--my hearing is fine!
Besides who would go to see Miami Vice for dialogue? Who would even go to see Miami Vice, unless it was to get out of the heat?[LOL]
As it is so many movies don't make sense--aren't thought out--have big holes in their stories--aren't logical--and the business wants to know why theatre going is down!

Right. When my wife suggested we go to the theater and we reviewed the choices it came down to finding the one that was the least undesirable. Come to think of it, it was like voting in an election.

how do you get on with the forieign films----keep your glasses polished to read the subtitles ---90% of sbs tv station here only has that type[THUMBUP]

I have seen some really great foreign films with subtitles. There is really no choice if it's a worthwhile film. Though it does present a real problem. as you well know. The very nature of the film is the visual imagery and the dynamic action. Reading the subtitles distracts you from following the visual images.
