I was driving home late one night with my wife and oldest son. It was a heavily wooded setting we had traveled thousands of times before. There were no man-made landmarks along the curving country road. So I was following my internal mental map when I found myself saying " Remember that time we saw some deer on this road? " Now that was years before and it hadn't happened since. My wife took me more seriously than I intended, and advised me to slow down. I did, and within a minute or so we caught sight of, and came upon a deer staring back at my bright head beams. I was able to brake and swerve just in time to miss hitting him.
We were all aghast at what had happened. How did I know to say that at that very moment? As I tried to recapture what had gone through my mind in those moments just prior to the encounter it seemed as though the image of a deer appeared out of nowhere in my thoughts. Was it a coincidental memory or was something else at work. Was there a non human force at work looking out for the innocent doe? I find it intriguing to believe the latter. What do you think?

Note:
People spend too much time exploring things outside of themselves and not enough exploring their insides, which is where The MIND and The HEART lives.
Gen 6:3 (ip) And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, FOR THAT he also IS FLESH.....

"Watch what you wish for or think, because the Mind will make it come to pass.........."
Going back to my experience/ Did the doe appear because my mind conjured it up or was I seeing what the future held and thereby enabling me to alter the outcome? I realize the complexity of what I am asking and it does contrast sharply with the simplicity of assuming "a coincidence"

The quote from the Bible came as a surprise. Your other comments were responsive to my level of questioning.
In a discussion, when one party quotes the Bible (the most authoritative of sources) it ends the conversation. How can any mortal disagree?
I think it's just another one of those things that we can't explain. I'm glad nobody got hurt.

I remember my first year in college. My best friends had decided to attend a local University, while I decided to attend a business school in a town over 5 hours from home. Being my first taste of living alone I had decided not go home until the Christmas break. It was sad to say but I was so busy with school I lost touch with my old friends. On night I had a very vivid dream in which my friend Gus and his new wife Margie were visiting me. I awoke the next morning and though nothing of it. Since it was a Sunday I decided to go eat breakfast in town. I got in my car and noticed I was low in gas so I decided to drive to a convience store one of my fraternity brothers had mentioned. I drove up to the pump; I got off my car and proceeded to fill my car. As I pumped the gas I started to daydream for a second when the sound of my name being called broke me out of it. Hey Johnny Boy, is that you? I was extremely surprised when I looked up. There standing on the other side of pumps was my best friends Gus and Margie. It seemed my friends were on their way to a job interview at Corpus Christi Texas, which was several hundred miles north of my location. To this day I still do not know why I had the dream of them the night before or what made me decide to put gas at a store I had never visited before or why my friends chose that specific time to put gas. Regardless I was a great moment to visit with old friends and talk about old times. So I do belief that we all have some form of ESP and we can all benefit from it if we learn to listen.

I think I know what you're talking about. It's like when you dream and upon awakening can't hold onto that dream in your memory. It's because the nocturnal mind does not correspond with the reasoning brain. The mental rules differ. It's like two incompatible computers unable to exchange information. [COOL]
An example of how the MIND works....The shortest distance between two points, A to B, is a straight line...The MIND changes every point, regardless, to A. With the MIND, the shortest distance between two points is being everywhere all at the same time, A to A....Before you depart you arrive!!!!
