1150 Palestinians for 3 Israelis

July 13, 2006 / by fixed845inc

Does it make you wonder about respective worth when Palestinians demand 383 of their people held as prisoners by Israel for every Israeli held by them?

What does it say about their dignity, about how they value themselves, about how inflated are their view of Israeli lives vs Palestinian?

Do Israelis see things the same way?

Maybe that is why they are presently overreacting to the capture of three soldiers.

If someone came across the Mexican border and took away three of our border agents do you think it would be an overreaction to send a couple of divisions into Mexico to get them back? And why do you limit the cause of retaliation to this single kidnapping? Have you already forgotten about the boy who was kidnapped and murdered last week? Do you have any idea how many rockets have been fired into Israel? Do you think we would allow Canada to launch missels into the U.S.?
Don't count me among the Israeli cheerleaders but I think I know right from wrong.
I would like to know, by the way, what you think the prisoner exchange ratio says about how Palestinians view their worth. I honestly did not grasp your point on that matter.

I'm having a bad day at communicating my meaning. I was talking about the palestinian view of their own self worth. They are the ones making the demands for the unequal exchange. No, you are quite right we would go after our people. What we would not do is to go after the infrastructure of their country. That is what I mean by an overreaction.

This would be a very uneven exchange because Israel would get three soldiers. Israel would only give up 1150 mouths to feed.
